Last month, Acer announced Aspire S3, a Core i5 powered ultrabook notebook. That same model is now available with an Intel Core i7 ULV processor. This Core i7 model will retail at $1300 – $400 more than the base Core i5 model.
The new S3 will carry the Core i7 2637m processor which delivers same performance as the Core i3 2330m, 2310m, but has just 17 watts TDP. The i3 2330m got 6600 in the PCMark Benchmark test.
Keeping the benchmarks aside, the main highlight to us its roomy 240GB solid state drive which is higher than what you get in a Macbook Air or Asus UX31 at this price. Specs – 13.3 inch display, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, Core i7 2637m processor, Intel GMA 3000 graphics, 0.51 inches thick, 2.9 pounds and 6 hour battery life.
