HP has unveiled its first AMD A4 powered notebook powered featuring a scratch resistant body and a 15.6 inch display. The entry level model comes with 320GB hard disk, DVD super drive and runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system. As expected, this AMD CPU features a powerful built in GPU which in this case is the ATi Radeon HD 6480G (clock frequency 444MHz).
The AMD A4 processor runs at 1.9GHz clock speed but automatically overclock to 2.5GHz under load. The TDP is reported to be 35 watts and the L2 cache is 2MB. The entry level model does not comes with built-in Bluetooth but is present in the higher models (1100AU – also comes with 500GB hard disk). Ports include an SD card slot, 3x USB 2.0 ports, HDMI port, mini D-sub15 pin, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11n Wi-Fi, webcam, headphone and microphone jack. Oh, and the unit also comes with Altec Lansing speakers.
Battery is 6-cells which promises to deliver around 6 hours of continuous runtimes. After installation of battery, the notebook weighs in at 2.36 kilograms.
