HP today released a solid contender to the Apple iPad tablet – the Envy X2. This tablet offers amazing battery life and solid performance. It is powered by next generation Intel Atom Clover Trail processor which is much more powerful and capable than the one currently being used in netbooks. However, it will not able to match the horsepower of ultrabook CPU, let alone full voltage notebook processors like Core i5 3360m with 35 watts TDP.

HP is now offering its Pavilion DM1z mini notebook with the new AMD Brazos 2.0 processors. HP’s website is now offering the basic model that comes with AMD E1 1200 processor for just 400 dollars, which is same price for the E300 (read AMD E300 review) powered DM1z. For another 25 dollars, you get the much faster 1.7GHz AMD E2 1800 processor and thus, I think it is a decent performance jump for just 25 additional dollars.

The HP G6 1d18dx is a very affordable multimedia notebook that offers good battery life and decent performance to keep you up with your work and entertainment when you are on the move. For under 350 dollars, you get a pretty good hardware equipment and a HP branded notebook that generates very low heat and noise.
We were able to spend some time with the machine and were not that impressed with the clattery keyboard and below average screen. Pictures and videos looked stale and had full of gloom on them. Performance is at par with the Intel Core i3 2367m processor that scored 3895 in the PCMark Vantage benchmark test.

HP has unveiled its first AMD A4 powered notebook powered featuring a scratch resistant body and a 15.6 inch display. The entry level model comes with 320GB hard disk, DVD super drive and runs Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system.
