Lenovo has revamped its mobile workstation lineup with the new Thinkpad W540 notebook. It looks like a typical high quality Thinkpad notebook that is made using magnesium alloy that feels lightweight and sturdy at the same time. Its design lines are elegant and sober, thanks to the graphite color.
The ThinkPad W540 notebook also incorporates a precision backlit keyboard, dedicated number pad and trackpoint and three buttons that are integrated into the touchpad. The thickness of the notebook is 27 mm while its weight is 2.47 pounds. Remaining specs of the Lenovo ThinkPad W540 include an IPS 15.5 inch screen with resolution of 2880 x 1620 and X-Rite color calibrator which will be appreciated by those who work with photos or videos.
Under the shell, Lenovo has put together everything that will yield high performance to handle even the most power demanding scenarios. You get a quad core processor from Intel Core i7 generation, backed by a maximum of 32 GB of RAM, a professional dedicated video card, Nvidia Quadro and up to 2 TB to store data to your heart’s content.
Fast ports are included as well. You get Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 ports. For video output, you get HDMI and VGA, and of course, the usual connectivity radios such as Wi-Fi module, Bluetooth , and optionally also 4G-LTE to ensure you remain connected while on the move. it also includes a biometric sensor so that you can login using fingerprints. Lenovo ThinkPad W540 workstation will become available from next month of November, at a price not yet announced.
