MSI has introduced a new range of mainstream laptops called the Prestige and first two models to debut in this range are MSI PE60 and MSI PE70 which will retail at € 1199 and € 1299 respectively. Both laptops feature Intel Core i7-4720HQ and GeForce GTX 950M or GTX 960m.
MSI PE60 and MSI PE70 specs
MSI PE60 and MSI PE70 specifications include Intel Core i7-4720HQ Haswell processor clocked to 3.60GHz that is backed by a GeForce GTX 960m and GTX 950M with 2GB of dedicated GDDR5 memory. The supported RAM capacity is 16GB thanks to two DDR3L SO-DIMM slots. The high end models come with super fast M2 SSDs with 128GB capacities which offers much improved performance over the traditional 1TB HDDs that is offered in entry level models of MSI PE60 and MSI PE70.
MSI seems to have paid much attention to the cooling system which now has four pipes out of which three are dedicated to the graphics card and processor. Total TDP is 47 watts and despite that the MSI PE60 and MSI PE70 offer at least four hours on single charge.
On the ports front, the MSI PE60 and PE70 Prestige offer three USB 3.0 ports , one USB 2.0 , HDMI and mini-Display Port 1.4 to connect up to two monitors, audio jack, SD card reader, Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802,11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 radios.
To be priced under 1300 euro
MSI also integrated its Dynaudio 4.1 technology that is already present on many models for gaming and compelling-applications on mainstream laptops. The new MSI PE60 and PE70 Prestige will be available on the market from mid-May at the price of 1,199 and 1,299 euro.
