AMD A8 4500M, Radeon HD 7640G Benchmark

The AMD A8 4500M is a quad core processor that runs at 1.9GHz and automatically overclocks to 2.8GHz, whenever its Turbo core is activated. It features a pretty zippy AMD Radeon HD 7640G GPU with 256 shader cores operating at 497-655MHz. This makes it more powerful than the Intel HD Graphics 4000 that comes integrated with Ivy bridge processors.

AMD A8 4500M benchmark review

The A8 4500m’s TDP is rated at 35w which makes it suitable for conventional notebooks with 14.1+ displays. There are 4 cores to handle 4 threads. Here are its benchmark results:

1) PCMark Vantage – 4743
2) Cinebench R10: Rendering Multiple CPUs 64Bit – 6958
3) Passmark – 4246

As you can see, the performance of AMD A8 4500m is amazing and it only got beaten by the most powerful AMD A10 4600m mobile CPU that got 5466 in the PCmark Vantage benchmark test. The AMD A4 3300m and A6 3400m got 3676 and 3581 respectively. The recently reviewed AMD A6 4400m got 4427 in the same test.
