Core i3 3110m Benchmark, Passmark
The Intel Core i3 3110m is a dual core processor based on Ivy Bridge architecture by Intel. The processor runs at 2.4GHz and supports hyperthreading with which it is able to handle up to 4 threads with its 2 cores. It has 3MB L3 cache and comes with Intel HD 4000 graphics. Since it is a full voltage processor, it has a TDP of 35 watts.
The i3 3110m performed pretty nicely in the Passmark benchmark test, scoring more than 3500 points. The recently reviewed Core i3 2350m got 2923. i3 2330m scored 2719 in passmark. For us, any processor scoring more than 3500 points is a good enough processor for carrying out daily duties. If you want more horsepower, then you should get a middle range notebook that comes with something like Core i5 3360m that got 4495 in passmark benchmark.
The Intel Core i3 3110m is currently being offered in many budget notebooks like Acer E1 571. E1 531 offers similar package like E1 571 but comes with Intel Pentium B960 that got 2080 in passmark.
