Core i7 2860QM Review
Intel Core i7 2860QM is the successor to the hugely successful and powerful Core i7 2820QM. The new processor runs 0.1GHz faster at 2.4GHz and overclocks itself to 3.5GHz under Turbo boost mode. TDP is 45 watts which is same as its predecessor and is more than its kin, the Core i7 2640m that we reviewed last month. Like other Core i series processors, the Core i7 2860QM also comes with integrated Intel HD 3000 GPU.
In our testing notebook, the 2860QM scored 5.90 in the Cinebench R11.5 test, which is more than the Core i7 2640M (got 3.2) and even the i7 2820QM by close margin (5.2). For fun, I even included the score of the Intel B940. Poor processor scored 1.56 in the Cinebench R11.5 benchmark.
