The Core i7 3612QM processor a super fast quad core processor based on the Ivy Bridge architecture. It supports hyperthreading with which can handle upto 8 threads simultaneously. Its cores run at 2.1GHz clock speed but automatically overclock themselves to 2.8GHz under turbo boost mode. Its integrated GPU, Intel HD 4000 runs at 650MHz (1100MHZ under turbo boost). The TDP of 3612QM is 35 watts, which makes it the first quad core Ivy Bridge processor with TDP of dual core mobile processors. There is 6MB L3 and 1MB L2 cache as well. Here are its benchmark results:
1) Cinebench R10: Rendering Multiple CPUs 64Bit – 19324
2) 3DMark 06 – 5528
3) PCMark Vantage – 15603
4) Passmark – 6921
Interestingly, its kin, the Core i7 3610qm got 7530 in the passmark benchmark test. However, we must take into account that it has a TDP of 45 watts CPU which means it consumes more power and generates more heat than i7 3612QM. Check out Intel Core i7 3610QM benchmark to find out more about it.
