Toshiba has released two mainstream notebooks in the market – Satellite E55 and E45. Both come equipped with Intel processors and have chassis made of aluminum alloy and design faithfully inspired by Toshiba Kirabook. They are very thin and fall under ultrabook category.
Toshiba E55 and E45 specs are pretty much similar – 1366×768 resolution, 802.11ac WiFi, multi touch screen, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 port, HDMI, LAN, SD card reader, stereo speakers and Intel Core i5 processor.
Both also sport sleep and charge function that let you charge your USB peripherals when your computers are not switched on. The E55 also packs a dedicated number pad.
While E45 comes with only Core i5 processor and 500GB HDD, the E55 is also available with AMD A6 processor. There is another variant of it called E55DT that comes equipped with touchscreen. Another model, E55D does not have touchscreen but packs beefier 750GB hard disk.
These Toshiba notebooks will go on sale on Auguust 4, 2013 with E45 costing $799. The Satellite S55D and S55DT will be released in September 2013 for $580 and $700 respectively.
