AMD announced its new E-series accelerated processing units at the Computex 2012, which were called Brazos 2.0. The company said that those were designed for budget notebooks and desktops. The two new processors have been named AMD E1 1200 and E2 1800 respectively. At the press event at computex 2012, AMD’s senior vice president Lisa Su said that in comparison to older generation A series, the new series offers twice the performance per watt and around 12 hours of battery life on a single charge.
Compared to the entry level Intel processors, the strength of AMD processors is graphics and the company made full use of this opportunity and even highlighted this at the event. Thses ultra thin notebooks can also be used to establish a brand name in the public by having their 0845 number on a sticker. Why? First, 0845 number is billed as local number.
